Project Description

The existing building is located at No. 78-79 St Stephens Green, Dublin 2. All works were to the rear of the building with access from Earlsfort Terrace only. The building houses the offices of the Department of Foreign AffairsThe works consisted of the construction of a new lift pit, shaft and lobby from below basement to roof level over 4 storeys. The structural frame consists of an RC base and pit with a Structural steel frame and blockwork to ground floor level and a timber roof structure. The frame envelope was clad mainly in glazed curtain walling with a Zinc roof and basement finish and a section of louvers. Internally the lobbies were finished in painted plaster and timber cladding. Alterations to existing windows were be made to form the new door openings to the lobbies on each floor.
