Job Summary:

The Construction Site Manager is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the construction site, ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards while maintaining safety and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Supervise and direct the project’s progress, ensuring alignment with client specifications and requirements. Regularly review progress and collaborate with quantity surveyors to monitor and manage project costs and meet agreed programme timeline.
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between the client, construction professionals, and, when necessary, the public, to ensure effective communication and address any concerns.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate and supervise all construction work activities including direct site labour, subcontractors, management, engineers etc. ensuring that all activities are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Resource Management: Monitor and order tools, materials, and plant required for the project, ensuring timely availability, proper usage and cost management.
  • Site Preparation: Oversee the initial setup of the construction site, ensuring that all necessary preparations are made before work begins. This includes clearing the site, setting up temporary structures, and establishing access routes.
  • Safety Management: Conduct safety inspections regularly, enforce construction site safety protocols, and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and review progress reports, designs, and drawings.
  • Quality Control: Maintain thorough documentation and quality control procedures throughout the project.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify potential issues before they arise and develop strategies to prevent or resolve problems efficiently.
  • Risk Management: Assess potential risks on-site and implement measures to minimize them, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
  • Contract Negotiation: Assist in negotiating contracts and securing the necessary permits and licenses for project execution.

Key Requirements:

  • Over 5 years of experience in construction site management
  • Previous experience with a main contractor, preferably on large-scale Logistics, Commercial or Apartment projects, is advantageous.
  • Relevant third level qualification
  • IT literacy including Microsoft Office and shared drive management.
